The Valpelline is a long, small and stony valley, beginning at the foot of the Dent d'Herens and ending just above the roman city of Aosta. The villages are small and cute and the alms still in use. Ski tourism is not possible in the valley; because of this, it is stil a quiet area and one of the few valleys in the Alps with a east-west position. The Valpelline has several side valleys, amongst other the Val Ollomont, a beautiful mystic valley, running north from Valpelline up to the Swiss border.
